Post by: RGMike on February 06, 2007, 09:28:25 AM
... because we haven't been there in 2 months (!) and because Dave won't wanna do a year that was covered in yesterday's VT ('73-'82).

TOTHC: REM

Phil & Phillip, "Easy Lover" -- BOS just 'cause Dave doesn't play it as often as you'd think he might.

Yikes!  Easy Lover, one of the most egregious examples of Phil Collins' total takeover of pop music during this year.

Double yikes because there are a couple of awesome songs on this disc that no one ever plays, including the title track.

Well this time we agree.

Yesterday's other Bonus choice was Phil's dreadful cover of "You Can't Hurry Love", which made Men at Work the lesser of 2 evils.

Mark Knopfler must still have the blues to this day, because if he couldn't get no sleeves for his records then, he sure as hell can't get 'em now!

Yes indeed.  I remember the whole conversation now, and looking it up on AMG -- It's on "Love Bomb" which does.  1.5 stars.  The review asks the question "are they Utopia clones?".  Yes.
