Holdin' hands and skimmin' stones...

I guess if he insists on "Robert" (not Bob, Rob, Bobby...) he MUST be gay! LOL!
So starting with EJ is appropriate.

I never knew me a better time, and I guess I never will.

I'm picturing Elton in the Crocodile suit. *shudder* ... and some people call Steve Miller a space cowboy!

Ah, '75. Now we're getting into BOS territory. Scottish white-boy funk from AWB.
-
VHM AWB, Pickin' Up the Playlists, er, Pieces. All hits, all the time!
-
Pick up the BOS!
#1 of several I hope.
-
all together now: RO-LEE-COASTAH!
-
Followed hot on its heels by Love Rollee-coaster--should have known Dave couldn't pass an opportunity to play this one.
Btw, noted prior to today's set that we haven't been to '77 since early December (yes, it seems odd to me as well--thought sure we went there sometime in January) so I was guessing that was where we'd be heading today. Sometime this week for sure.
-
Now say this with me: "wrapped up like a douchen of a roner in the night".

My BOS -- Manfred Mann.
PS, Dave, only 5 more postings to go... :)

Indeed, that is odd -- mid '70s sets tend to come up evey 3-4 weeks like clockwork. I'm also guessing we might get a Beatles (yay) set on Friday, the anniversary of their Ed Sullivan appearance. Little Steven did his annual salute last nite.

Okay, I said it. Can't remember what I first thought that line was when I heard this, maybe 'wrapped up like a duke, she know the (whatever)'

Yeehaw! I'll get to 1000 even if I have to kill a poster to get there!

Ah that's nice... a song for the Colts!!

Hope you're right about the Beatles set--Dave usually shines in instances like that. However, my gut tells me there have been fewer theme sets since the new management took over the reins (I haven't done my annual set-frequency analysis yet this year--mea culpa) so if there's a connection there, I'm not going to get my hopes up yet.

...even if I have to kill a poster to get there!
[insert awful pun groan sound effect]
This is quite the set for mega-blockbuster hits of the period. With the possibel exception of Elton, each of these has been the artist's biggest hit to that point of their careers, and in most cases biggest hit full stop.

Croc Rock was def EJ's biggest hit up until then -- his first #1 iirc.
Yikes, "The Long Run" for the 2nd time this morning -- didya do it for spite? didya think you had to, Davey?
-
BOS Delbert McClinton, givin' it up!
-
Not sure if this Delbert McC tune was his biggest or not, but it may get my BOS vote regardless.
And I do believe I detect...VINYL.

For me, anytime this song is played is once too many.
By the way, congrats on the Colts (I'm assuming you're happy).
And the group I was with yesterday even voted that the Game itself beat the Commercials this year...

his biggest and pretty much only, no? Unless you count country duets with Tanya Tucker.

But Centerfold sure was!

As I mentioned last week, the Tony Dungy story kinda put a damper on my emthusiasm, even tho' I loves me some Peyton. But yeah, sloppy game and the commercials were really lame this year, except for Letterman and Oprah, which technically doesn't count (it was a CBS promo).

Too bad they couldn't have worked Uma Thurman in somehow!

Missed your posting last week... what Tony Dungy story? That he's really religious? All that I'd heard about him was the he was a real nice guy -- unusual for a coach...

He's doing a big fund-raiser for an anti-gay Fundie group in Indiana next month.

Bonus: "Men at Work sounds good to me too!" sez Annalisa.
You're alone there, babe.

Yeah, as the pop charts go, he's a one-hit wonder, and this is it.

But it follows the (mostly) blockbuster theme of today's VT, so it kinda works for me.

Ah, thanks for the explanation...
Sorry to hear that about Dungy -- but maybe (to give him benefit of the doubt) he's only involved for religious, instead of anti-gay, reasons...
It's one of the things that bothers me most about large organized religions, is when you're expected to believe *all* of their doctrines no matter how ridiculous, in order to be accepted in their group...

Speaking of numbers of posts, we just crossed the 50K mark for the entire board, probably some time this morning.
