Axl when he was good: TOTHC, "Sweet Child o' Mine".

I had a bad feeling that today would be late '80s/early '90s... and sadly, I was right.

I'm blanking on what the currently playing noizy tune is--Ministry? Faith No More? I know we've heard it before, 'cause this is the only place I hear it.

BOS3 Jeremy Irons.  He'd win an Oscar 2 years later (for Reversal of Fortune), but he shoulda been nommed for Dead Ringers.

That was nasty.  Appears to be "Stigmata" by Ministry.  Hilarious transition to Don Pardo though.

Can't say it says "1988" to me--I'd much rather hear Husker Du or the Meat Puppets, if we have to hear some representative of the indie rock of that period.

ah, the traditional Swaggart-to-"Faith" segue.  Hope Dave has real good Ted Haggard clips when 2006 comes up in 2016.

Well, Rob's '88 set was nearly more Moreyesque than Dave's, but I'll still take Patti Smith over Ministry any time.

I'm sure the Ministry track is one that someone dared him to play once, and it did well enuf in BOS voting that he continues to play it.

Holy crap -- we're getting all of HFH "Don't Worry, Be McFerrin".  Yeesh.

I nearly gave Dave a shout-out for avoiding the Wilburys... but they ended up as the Bonus. And Tracy Chapman won BOS? WTF?

1.  Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
2.  Church - North, South, East & West
3.  Talking Heads - Blind
4.  Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams
5.  REM - Turn You Inside Out
6.  Tracy Chapman - Fast Car (BEST OF SET!!)
7.  Ministry - Stigmata
8.  Michelle Shocked - If Love Was a Train
9.  George Michael - Faith
10.  Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry, Be Happy

BONUS TRACK:  Traveling Wilburys - End of the Line

God, McFerrin was overplayed that year. I sure hope Dave never plays the most overplayed song of the 90's, Macarena when he plays 1995/1996 sets. Also, I hope he never plays the most overplayed song of 2000 when that sets comes up in 2010. We're gonna hear a ton of horrible music this final 4 years of this decade when he plays 1997-2000.

It has been played 4 times in my Db & was in a 3-way tie 2 out of 4 times.  I'm sure I've voted for it on both the general principle that it's never too bad a thing when Dave plays something that even the Bone wouldn't, and also because back in 1988 I was definitely listening & dancing to that.

For the 2nd week in a row, they've saved the worst for last, so i got to hear 4 good-to-excellent sets and then switched over to KPIG as '88 was about to start.
