"I Have the Touch" is an instant BOS contender for me!  Like this so much more than "Shock the Monkey".

Strictly British set so far (or am I spacing something--entirely likely)?

Well, shows what I know.  It's not "Don't Forget About Me", so there you go.  Would be nice to hear "New Gold Dream" sometime.

I think he means compared to Don't You Forget About Me or Alive and Kicking.

OK, Cars--the all-UK streak has ended. And a solid WOS contender to boot.

So Van Morrison would keep the streak going, but U2 wouldn't.

I'm sure there must be other bands from Belfast or Northern Ireland, but damned if I can name any.

BOS #4, "I Confess", one of my top 5 break up songs of all-time, with a great trumpet solo & a fistful of great lines:

...I've done too much of both kinds of whining...

...being dead don't hurt, no, only dying...

...I could have phoned, I could have spoke, but how to break the news without breaking your heart?

...it's not a joke, it's cards-on-the-table time...

...please get out! I know I'm shouting, I like to shout!

Junior, "Mama Used to Say"
Gap Band, "You Dropped a Bomb"
Kool & the Gang, "Get Down on It"
Atlantic Starr, "Circles"
Everlyn "Champagne" King, "Love Come Down"
Ray Parker Jr, "The Other Woman"

Did anybody ever try and call the number on the Tommy Tutone song? The 867 was a 408 area code back then. I called it once and some man answered. I didn't have the guts to ask for Jenny so I just hung up. I know the number was real and Tommy Tutone is supposedly from the Bay Area. I wonder if that number in the 408 area code (which would be South Bay) was Jenny's number.

Also, wasn't the Golden Earring song from 1983 and not 1982?

You are correct -- at least that's when it was a hit single.  Dunno when the LP was released.

Dave can't have it both ways, the Stones LP came out fall of '81, but "Waiting" charted in '82.
