Actually "Motown Monday" is a longstanding 10@10 tradition, tho' it doesn't happen that much anymore.

One of the funnier moments in Dreamgirls has Eddie Murphy wearing a Marvin Gaye knitted skullcap, singing a socially conscious ballad that's meant to be his "What's Goin' On" (and which the Berry Gordy character, played by Jamie Foxx, refuses to release).
