The I Love Music community was just engaged in discussion of this via "Walk Away Renee" -- the unusual way that both have verses that are so brief, they function more as pre-choruses than verses.

and to that I say "For SHAME!"  "1" & "2" are, together, the greatest achievement in modern film.  "3"... notsomuch.
