Or is it 71?
ETA: Yep, '72--peaked at #16.
-
I was thinking it could be as late as 73.
Hmmm, blow pop for Jose. Wishful thinking, Dave?

if you're talking singles chart, it's '72.

Dave's wishing Jose would blow Papi
or blow "Popcorn"! BOS1 Todd, BOS2 Hot Butter.
-
Hot Butter! Yummy!
-
BOS3 Moodies, I'm sure Mark will agree.
-
BOS #2, Moodies "You and Me", which is definintely from '72, not that there was any remaining doubt.

I was gonna say the same thing. 72 fer sure.
-
Just realized that it's been a mere 2 1/2 weeks since we last 72'ed. October 19, to be specific.
Not that there's anything wrong with that....
-
Ooh, my favorite Al Green Song. BOS for me!

indeed, although the day will come when '89 comes up every 18 days
BOS4 Rev Green -- I'll take his attitude towards sex over Rev Haggard's any day.
-
OK, we're deep into possible-10-way-tie territory with "Conquistador", reeking of pur-i-tee.

Procol Harum and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra get my BOS.
And in one of those heard-it-on-a-mix-tape-too-many-times cases, in my head I always hear the opening notes to the Crusaders' "Put It Where You Want It" amidst the crowd cheers.
-
I'm sorely tempted to BOS Donny Hathaway and the Maude theme
And yet another for Chicago's Dialogue (parts 1 and 2, one assumes).
Peter Cetera when he was good, and Terry Kath when he was breathing.
-
BOS6 and "Right On!" Maude.
"Are you optimistic
'bout the way this set is going?"
-
BOS2 to DH and "Maude," for once without scurrilous allegations against the lovely and talented and diminutive Roberta Flack.
HM to Chicago, whose opening riff was soon ripped off by the Raiders for "A Simple Song" (no relation to Sly's).

I hadn't planned on saying anything, but when push comes to shove...
-
BOS3 to Sugar Ray, I mean Malo, "Suavecito."

Needless to say, their planned duet of "Up on the Roof" was shelved.
-
Jose es "Suavecito" por Senor Morey.
-
And Suavecito keeps the hits coming (not to mention cementing a Santana family two-fer, since we heard Carlos earlier).

LOL! I suddenly just made that connection myself.

I hear she's planning a duet with John Ledge-end.

Oh no, it's just some joking that went beyond the tipping point.
-
Hey Gaz, has your potential trip out here been confirmed yet? If you are gonna be here on the 8th can I have dibs on the activity? Live 105 just announced their annual Not-So-Silent Night lineup:
The Killers
The Raconteurs
Modest Mouse (with new member Johnny Marr)
The Shins
Silversun Pickup
+ a local artist to be named later, all at the the Bill Graham Civic.
anyone else find that enticing?

Donny Hathaway died when he fell/jumped/was pushed out a window. It's a running gag here that Roberta pushed him, tho' there is NO evidence it actually happened.
"Where is the Love?"
"it's out on that window ledge, Donny"
-
yet another BOS CCR, "Someday Never Comes". A truly fine set, especially for a Monday.
-
Bleah, diminishing returns on the final (?) CCR hit. John had run out of things to say for the time being. I can only take so much "long as I remember" repetition.

That's quite a lineup. What venue?
ETA: Yeesh, you edited to add the venue while I'm querying that very factoid. I gotta remember to refresh before I post.

That is a great lineup -- and Johnny Marr is a mad genius -- but I can't be in SF before the 17th due to work commitments. I haven't found a fare to my liking, but assuming nothing fells my plans, I'll be in town roughly the 18th through the 28th, give or take a day or two on either end. Will update on one of the Stream of Consciousness threads.
-
Oh damn, I missed "I Saw the Light." (Was out running, a rarity for me.) After-the-fact BOS, natch.

Is it me, or did you add the location after your initial post (but obviously before I posted my question)?

It's just you.
although I did excise the double 'the'.

Bonus: Alice Cooper, "Elected"!
which begs the question: is Dave planning an Election Day set for tomorrow?

Good thought. I'd say it's due--the last one we had (the presidential election in '04) was a great great set.

Good thought. I'd say it's due--the last one we had (the presidential election in '04) was a great great set.
For me, an election day set oughta have:
Arcadia, "Election Day" (obv., but I haven't heard it in a long time)
Temps, "Ball of Confusion" ("vote for me, and I'll set you free!")
Temps, "Power" (an even better commentary on the politics of control)

I've also been thinking of this:
Sly Fox - "Let's Go All The Way" (...presidential party, no one wants to dance, looking for a new star to put you in a trance...)
X - "The New World" (Honest to goodness the bars weren't open this morning. They musta been voting for the president or something...)
-
and Gaz wins the BCPCOS (Best cranky pants comment of set) for his CCR ruminations
