Wow!  Dave's actualy playing good Wang Chung.  The title track from the To Live And Die In L.A. soundtrack.

Has anyone else ever seenthis movie?  It is totally great, directed by William (Exorcist, French Connection) Friedkin.  It featured William L. Pedersen 15 years before C.S.I., bungee jumping before it was even called that, the first backwards on the freeway car chase (now a cliche, but very effective here), and an as-yet-unmatched plot twist with 20 minutes left in the film.

At the very least, Dave is going to lose use of a whole bunch of bumpers. Wonder if he'll bring back Larry "Bud"? (Is Calvert DeForest still alive?)

Who else would make a fitting successor to DP? I'm drawing a blank so far....

I'm sure he's still got the Melman stuff on file, not to mention Monty Hall, who also hosted for a while. My guess is they'll get the guy with the "announcer voice" who does a lot of KFOG promos.

hmmm...the luch lady would work, too. she announces the menu for some building on capitol hill. when i lived in d.c., i'd call every day to listen to the recording. she makes minestrone soup sound like  party.

Never thought I'd say this, but HM to Bryan Adams.  Hadn't heard "It's Only Love" in many years.

And now the poor (literally; this album apparently never recouped  :!: ) Mr. Mister.

we may get some soul in this set. it's reminding me of texas radio...i can't think of what artists might appear, though.

The KFOG morning show used to call up and put the message on the air. After a while it got old.

I'd suggest Keith David (very deep-voiced black actor; he does the Navy and UPS commercials -- what can Brown do for KFOG?).  Or James Earl Jones.

Gaz, did you mean Lil Jon the rapper or Stuttering John, the Tonight Show announcer and ex-Stern hanger-on?

We have to play this song from time to time at church, but for me I'm almost positive this contains some ripped off melodies from Stevie Wonder.  I haven't been able to figure it out for over a decade.  Am I insane?

Okay Mr Hoffman, you just sealed your fate.  You pick a date that you & your better half can make it out to CV & I'll plan accordingly.  Feel free to make it far out on the calendar, we needn't be bound by my b-day.  Just sometime between now & the 4th of July (non-inclusive, that's one of our camping weekends).
