Now playing, something perfectly suited to my mood: the Stones, "2,000 Light Years From Home." Today is a good day for bitterly distant music, hence my grabbing Dandy Warhols for the commute.

I've been listening to their regular stream the past half-hour (was having probs w/KFOG) and they're playing "Showdown" which was on 10@10 yesterday. Today is 1980, BTW, which is not exactly my ideal Friday entertainment. But Dave played Mr Dury's "Sex & Drugs & R'n'R" at 6:30 am!
"get your teeth into a small slice
the cake of liberteeeeeee..."

When Dave said "coming up, some Ian Dury -- because it's Friday morning" I was praying for "Wake Up & Make Love with Me". But S&D&RnR will do in a pinch.

from rod the mod to styx' version of "babe, i'm gonna leave you," "suite: madame blue." i'm certain this song inspired dana carvey's "chopping broccoli."
