I'm predicting a theme set...
and as usual I'm wrong. Coulda sworn we we just in '85, but it's been a month.
Ree-Ree on the Free-Free(way) is a nice start, anyway.
"never you mind the Exit signs..."

The way she slurs that line, it sounds more like "never you mind the exercise." Advice she apparently followed some years later.

LOL!! Truer words.... The one time I've seen Aretha (about 12 years ago at Jazzfest in NOLa) I was rather appalled at her size. Guess she never met a hushpuppy she didn't like...

BOS this '60s-soul-style Petty (?), one you rarely hear.

and always a VHM for Dire Straits.

The Petty and Dire Straits both take me back to '85. I recall seeing both those bands (and Clapton circa Behind the Sun too) at the old Concord Pavilion. BGP took over the booking that year and suddenly they got some pretty good rock shows there, instead of the cabaret singers and the Concord Jazz fest they'd survived on up to that time.

BOS for the divine Kate Bush.

Ditto, with no problem.

BOS for the divine Kate Bush.
Very dreamy....

Nancy & Ronnie: Justice & Independence? LOL!

another BOS, "Appetite". This seems to be one '85 set worth calling a Classic, methinks, tho' I suspect Huey may be waiting in the wings.
-
Scritti Politti, always a delight, and it's actually been a while for this one iirc.

<snip>I suspect Huey may be waiting in the wings.
Worse--schmaltzy, insipid Bryan Adams. WOS.

Prefab Sprout, something of a Morey fave actually.
AAAAACK! Bryan Adams brings us crashing down, just when we were doing so well.
-
wow, this was an OLD one, as the Yahoo Club reference makes clear.

Some of Bryan Adams stuff is good. Heaven isn't one of them. Incredibly soft, incredibly cheezy, incredibly bad. The video (both versions) are even worse.
