That's what the promo I heard yesterday afternoon said. Guessing '77, it's most overdue (early July).

Dang, got a phone call right at the beginning & missed the birthday club.

Double Dang, had the office to myself, with the expectation that my co-worker was coming a bit late & cranked up "Black Betty"...for all of 20 seconds before my co-worker came in.

You misspelled cow orker, Mark.  I was amazed to see 1977 was the year for "Black Betty".  Seems a lot more 1970ish to me.  Guess it was kinda retro even when it came out.

It IS a fabulous single, even if I've heard it a few too many times. But did people still "jive" in 1977?  Oh those wacky English-as-a-second-language Swedes!

one of the oddest bills was seeing them open for Jefferson Starship at Winterland.  They were pretty funny though, as most fans seemed luded out.  They did a Spinal Tap moment when all of them played a guitar (even the drummer and keyboard player) in some precursor of "Big Bottom"

Y'know I thought the same thing for a sec, but then my brain kicked in and thought "wrong year. And we know Dave KNOWS what year Life is a Rock is..."

And I think it's an electric piano, probably a Fender Rhodes. They were big in the latter 70s.

They must have milked that schtick for awhile--I saw 'em do it in '79 at Cal Expo (topping the bill over Cheap Trick and Pat Travers--fun show!).

But that guy Buck Dharma can really play.
