Title: KBCO, 8/3/06: 1987

I think that's what Ginger promised yesterday. No doubt she can make '87 more interesting than Dave, but then that ain't hard to do.

I'm gonna hope for some uptempo Simply Red.  "Something Got Me Started" was '87, wasn't it?  Or maybe "The Right Thing"?

HM to Joe Cocker's take on "Unchain My Heart," even if the backing track is too slickly an '80s coke production.  Pity he recorded so little after the "Up Where We Belong" comeback.

Oh, now THIS will do nicely.  BOS to "Why Can't I Be You?"  My favorite Cure song next to "The Lovecats."

VHM the Lethal Weapon clip -- nice choice, Ginger.

"Are you just crazy? or are you as good as they say you are?"

LOL!

BOS the Cure.

"Peace Train" isn't bad from 10KM, but Dolly did it better.

besides the fact I just like these Gilmour-heavy songs, I also see this as an answer to "Us and Them" from DSOM, a call to action.

Likewise for me. Definitely NOT a tune Dave would play. Also dug the Robbie Robertson, and POC's favorite Sexy Voice, but Mojo for BOS.

(Anyone else think Mojo Nixon is just George Thorogood in comedy mode?)

Yup.  But if it didn't have Mojo Nixon, then this set could use some fixin'.

Damn, out of all the stuff I missed on my vacation, this tune, from the very first set that I missed, is the one I regret the most.  I have been jonesing for this for years.  Anyone have an mp3 of this?

Why is there a Bermuda Triangle?
Elvis needs boats.
Elvis needs boats.
Elvis, Elvis, Elvis, Elvis, Elvis, Elvis, Elvis needs boats.
