Proxy for Mike, who I'm sure wishes HE were drivin' around with the cartop down & the radio on.

Fixed the date, and likewise loved the Mink.  Can't stay long, gotta head to SFO & onto KC for a family reunion in the steaming Midwest.  This time Saturday my boys will be milking cows on the Schroeder homestead.

Back late Tuesday, have fun till then!

My stream died at the end of "Give a Little Bit."  Let me know what I missed to close.

Mine just came back -- I  missed the Jeffreys (dammit!) but here's TP's "American Girl". And OMGWTF! Television, "Marquee Moon".

Fleetwood Mac - Silver Springs
Elvis Costello - Waiting For The End Of The World
Pete Townshend - My Baby Gives It Away
Little Feat - Old Folks Boogie
Billy Joel - Scenes From An Italian Restaurant
Mink Deville - Mixed Up Shook Up Girl
Supertramp - Give A Little Bit
Garland Jeffreys - I May Not Be Your Kind
Tom Petty - American Girl
Television - Marquee Moon

all in all, the sort of superb NY-centric set at which Rob excels.  CBGBs rules!

Kind of strange how Mink DeVille has fallen into a black hole here in SF.  Several of his songs were well-played on the radio at the time, but I NEVER hear him anymore.  Maybe on KRSH or KPIG someday?

indeed, but a lot of NY-based stuff from that period is ignored here (including Television -- damn, I forgot how LONG "Marquee Moon" is) and Southside Johnny and Tuff Darts and the Shirts and on and on.
