Joe Jackson was right -- Friday ROOOLS!
F.Mac, instant BOS, "Heroes are Hard... to Find".
-
I'm posting again to get Gaz to delete his...
-
VHM George, "Dark Horse" of course of course.
-
is this Rob's first cheeze medley?
BOS2 Neil
-
BOS3 Ms Ronstadt, "You're No Good". Her status as "queen of the cover versions" aside, this one worked because few had ever heard the original.

I eventually heard the original (Betty Everett, right?) many years later, and La Linda trumps it mightily. Still, I associate this with '75 rather than '74.
PS: Other thread deleted per request.

BOS4 Tom Waits for
noeveryone.

ditto. I mean, technically the LP came out in Nov. '74, but still...
Rob shows some Rockford love! Sounds like the orig TV version of the theme.
-
Haha, BOS to Rockford Files theme just to spite the haters.

Caught the wonderful james Garner the other nite on TCM in Boy's Night Out, one of those early-'60s sex comedies they used to call "frothy". Kim Novak at her peak, too.

in deference to Gaz I won't WOS "Cat's in the Cradle", but I still say it's middlebrow sappiness writ large.
-
OMGWTFLOL!!!! EJ, "Ticking". I have been jonesing for this for ages -- first appearance on any 10@10 and a welcome BBOS.

Little Feat - Rock and Roll Doctor
David Bowie - Rebel Rebel (US single mix)
Fleetwood Mac - Heroes are Hard to Find
George Harrison - Dark Horse
Neil Young - Walk On
Linda Ronstadt - You're No Good
Tom Waits - The Heart Of Saturday Night
Bad Company - Can't Get Enough
Harry Chapin - Cat's In The Cradle
Elton John - Ticking
Dave's set yesterday was grand, but Rob has easily equalled if not topped it. That EJ alone is Most Welcome Surprise of Week for me.

god, i love her. someone go see her at the bluegrass fest and take pics, please!!! she's spot-on about the cost of education, too. i told a friend earlier today that i used to cut class to go to the town bookstore (not realising what i nerd i sounded like). imagine if my mother had saved the money for private school!!! well...i suppose i was more challenged in private school than in public school. and there's no way in hell i could have played the truant in private school as often as i did public school.

Glad it arrived already! Tell me "Shake" isn't one of the best dance-party rockers ever!
