Mick wants to spend the nite.  But Bob got the story wrong -- the Stones changed the lyrics to "spend some time..." and so the old folks in Ed Sullivan's audience weren't offended.

Did you find it on the 'net, or did you just happen to have it handy? I recall it was a B-side of one of the Private Dancer singles.

I didn't hear what Bob said, but my memory was that this was worked out in advance, but I'm not quite sure what Mick really said.  This is probably getting mixed up in my head with the story of the Doors ES show.

I didn't hear what Bob said, but my memory was that this was worked out in advance, but I'm not quite sure what Mick really said.  This is probably getting mixed up in my head with the story of the Doors ES show.

He sang "Let's spend some time together," but slurred the words (perhaps not any more than usual) and rolled his eyes every time he repeated it.
