VHM for "The One Thing", but not for "Katrina of a Lonely Heart".

Seems Ali is unlikely to get her wish.

no no for pity's sake

aaack! Owner of a Lonely 'trina. Oh no for pity's sake!

As common as 1983 always seems, we haven't had a "new" '83 set since May 9th (we got a "classic" '83 on Memorial Day).

Wit'cha bro. Ditto for Feeling Katrination. I think this set is getting the Monday-morning by-the-numbers treatment, even tho it's a Wednesday.

...And plain to see, the facts are changing.  No meaning left to hold.

See, I think "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" makes a good segue after all of that Reagan nonsense.

anything even resembling a breakout today would be a major surprise, methinks.

indeed, in paint-by-number sets, Dave's segs are usually all we have to hold onto.

Betcha you'll BOS Simple Minds, bub.

Fagen, "Green Flower St" -- an almost-Grand Slam for the Dan today.

I'm experiencing drop-outs, too.  It's strictly rote today, tho'.

well here's your bustout, assuming this is Stevie Ray.

I like the Simple Minds, but it is a borderline Katrina as well.  Even "Green Flower Street" has been heard twice in the past 10 months.

"Fascination" is the #3 Katrina from 1983, tied with "Europa & the Pirate Twins", although I guess we won't hear "Hungry Like the Wolf" unless Dave opts for a Fab Five twin-spin.

1. Psychedelic Furs - "Love My Way"
2. Duran Duran - "Hungry Like the Wolf"
3. (tie) Human League - "(Keep Feeling) Fascination"
3. (tie) Thomas Dolby - "Europa & the Pirate Twins"

[crankypants]Dave and KFOG play so much SRV that even a breakout from him sounds like a Katrina to me.[/crankypants]

Well here's the prime Katrina for '83, Dave really is doing this by rote.  Now I guess the best we can hope for is that he plays "Windpower" or "One of Our Submarines" instead of "Europa..."

[crankypants] Dave, please explain how "completely different" Psychedelic Furs & U2 are in an '83 set.

another would-be breakout, except we heard it twice last year.[/crankypants]

No denying the Psych Furballs are a 'trina, but I'll VHM them anyway--sounded nice today for whatever reason.

Now we're hearing Seconds, for what seems like the bazillionth time in the last few months. How's this one doing on Katrina points, Mark? Dave seems to have developed an affinity for it over the last year or so.
