Do I detect sarcasm?

Actually, the years '83-'86 I remember fondly as the last gasp of true "Top 40" radio, which experienced a revival largely because of MTV's popularity.  New Wave, Album rock, hair bands, Prince, Madonna, MJ and Janet, all on one radio station -- what a concept.

The fact that Dave traditionally ignores severl of the above and has run others into the ground is another issue.

Hooters and Mr Mister in the same set -- I always got them confused at the time.

I predict "Kayleigh" will make an appearance. Tho' I'd much prefer "Endicott".

Sarcasm? Me? I don't know what you mean.

And yes, that opinion is based on what we usually hear, not what was actually released that year.

BOS Kate Bush. Last time I heard this song, I was sitting in a pub in Wales, eating rabbit stew, drinking a pint of the local ale, and waiting for the rain to abate. They put this album on right after we sat down, so I heard most of it while lunching. Quite sublime.

This set, as was true yesterday & Monday, is not a dupe of a set in the archive, so I don't know what will come next.  But unless the real Katrina shows up here at the end, Kate Bush will have moved into a tie with her, and TFF will have surpassed her.

can't explain it -- but the "classics" seem to have been "old" this week, and it just seemed either this or "Kayleigh" might show up.  Thank god it's Kid Creole and not Marillion.

a few years back, it bordered on Katrinaville but then it kinda disappeared for a while.  Quite popular in '85 (tho' it never charted as a single) thanks to a colorful often-played MTV video.

Waterboys "Whole of the Moon" for the bonus track, which is what I picked a couple months back when I won the quiz.

Coulda been Katrina, though.

TANC: I switched to CG rather than wait around -- and the first song Dean played on the Jukebox was... "Whole of the Moon".
