Here's that 90's set Urth was worrying about yesterday.
-
'93 actually. Feh. And again I say: "Feh."
Blind Katrina to start, no less. Yeesh.

Here's that 90's set Urth was worrying about yesterday.
Didn't he say 93? My memory or hearing or both are going...
Yesterday you wrote:
Sorry I missed the set, more for my chance to swap posts with y'all than for this setlist. But seriously now, how many of you thought Fashion was Style Council? Be honest.
Are you asking this question because it's embarassing to have thought that, or because you think it really did sound like them?

Yours are fine. Mshray, on the other hand...
ETA: However, this TFF tune (Elemental?) is sounding good, Narada though it may be. And a bust out too?

Actually I missed the intro, but Blind Melon came out in '92. Upon hearing TFF, I realized my mistake, but then y'all beat me to it.

No, because I missed the chance to tease all of you who thought so, but, alas, the moment has pased.

Phew, what a relief. Pretty good sound on the Beers for Deers tune.

I know "Connected" gets BOS's from all & sundry, but it's a bit monotonous-sounding to me today.
-
BFOS - "Dreams". One night in Taiwan I was invited to go out dancing with a bunch of students from my English class at the all-girl junior college where I taught part-time. These girls were all dance majors and many were exceptionally nubile & beautiful. Unfortunately I had just gotten engaged, and so couldn't really take advantage of that part of the equation. The band at the club we were at turned out to be really lame, so lame in fact that nobody really wanted to dance, but their female lead singer was kind of interesting. Just when I was about to motion for adjournment she broke into an absolutely perfect rendition of this song. I was stunned.
And then they went right back to sucking on their next song.

Annie is nice and all, but this is one of Dave's biggest Katrina's in any year.
-
Gin Blossoms sounding good to me today, VHM.

Ya know, it does sound good, even though we've heard it 18,000 times. And it reminds me of Shatner's "Mr. Tambourine Man".
"Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man! Mr. Tambourine Man!!! Mr. TAMBOURINE MAN!!!!!"

Get crazy with the Cheez Whiz!
BOS to Beck, the only Scientolgist I still like.
ETA: Ya ever notice how Beck says 'splinters' the same way Niedermeyer in Animal House says 'pledge pin'?

what, Jenna Elfman and Kirstie Alley don't float yer boat?
Beck is approaching Katrina status along with Ms Lennox and Blind Melon, no?
-
Very nice guitar work on that less-played Lenny Kravitz track.
-
"Here we go again" indeed. I used to love this song.
Standard '93 set, too many 'trinas.

Not as much as they once did, same for that guy who used to do the voice for Chef.

Yeah, but I always like it.

I don't know this one. Is it by "Style Council"?

Is that gonna be the club's new "Dude, It's prog rock" inside joke?

only song I've heard

I can only hope, since I'm on the outside for the "D,ipr" joke

I miss Beej. He certainly would have posted a Jenna Elfman pic by now, and a better one than this:

I'm sure he would since your picture isn't working. Is he on vacation, or has he just left us?

Not exactly sure, but I think he's found someone to occupy his free time in the real world. Good for him, I say.

Yep--I bailed during the Kravitz tune to go watch the last 15 minutes of the England-Trinidad game. Much better use of my time--better than, say, working...

I *LOVED* this song when it came out -- like, listening to it on repeat for a half-hour. Co-BOS votes to that and the Gin Blossoms, which was really one of the best rock songs of the '90s. And of course Tasmin, maybe a half-step behind them.
