Still wish Rob had saved '68 for today (my early day) but we're getting a New Wavish '82: Missing Persons, Marshall Crenshaw and Human League so far.
-
BOS Stray Cats, "Runaway Boys", one you never hear and a welcome change from "Rock This Town".
-
Rob dips into Dave's well with a Square Pegs clip, but follows it with the late great Patty Donohue and the Waitresses, "I Know What Boys Like". BOS2

The Human League, FMac, and Joe Jackson tracks pretty much summarize what I remember of 1982 sounding like. My flawed memory puts Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" and Matthew Wilder's "Break My Stride" in the same camp, but I can't help thinking those two didn't actually arrive til '83.

correct on both counts!
and the Dolby, which Rob played, was also a late '82 release that didn't chart until spring of '83. I wanna say the same about "Walking in LA" too but I don't have Whitburn handy.
