apparently inspired by yesterday's discussion of this new Nike/Apple collaboration, a running shoe with a chip in the heel that stores data that can then be transferred to an iPod. Which prompted people to talk about songs they listen to while running.
Interesting coincidence, what with Ginger doing a "running" set. Wonder how much overlap there'll be. Unfortunately I have a 10:00 meeting...

I'm missing the set due to work. Happy Memorial Day to you and your families, everyone!
-
Unfortunate start with the Stones "Fart Me Up".
But a turn to the great with "Barracuda"!
-
Running on Empty?
-
Boys of Summer
-
BOS for The Ramones, but what was that weird "poom poom poom" before the song?
-
pretty much the whole El Rayo X album. I put a bunch of electro-disco on at first, but it didn't work. It seemed like music I like was more important than the beat. For example, Desolation Row works just fine.
-
BOS Tom Petty, "Runnin' Down a Dream"
-
BOS2 for Longview -- I turned it up loud!
-
Boys of Summer
A great song but it doesn't strike me as a this-gets-me-pumped-when-i'm running/working out type tune.

Like I said earlier, sometimes it's a different vibe. Actually, the song has a real insistent guitar figure that's quite propulsive. Each to each's own I guess.

I did hear a dance remake of this by some nameless diva or other... and of course there's the Ataris punk take on it.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, everybody! I'm off to the mountains, hopefully killing a few fishes (I'll try to let 'em go, but some of them die).
"See" you all Tuesday.
