the term for "exit only" in dutch is "alleen uitgang." i was at the van gogh museum the other day, and someone walked by the "alleen uitgang" sign, and started singing, "come on, uitgang!"

BOS to "Take It Away," Paul's last Top 10 that was not a duet or from a movie.  Something chillingly melancholy about this, and I've thought so since the first time I heard it at age 9.

Never thought of that... but speaking of, I have a real soft spot for "No More Lonely Nights", which we've never heard on any 10@10.

VHM to "Gypsy," such a perfect production, if an oddly disembodied one.

This has always struck me as one of Pete's weirder lyrics.

"he had a snake the size of a sewer pipe livin' in his ribcage" -- WHAA?

She'd be more likely to not touch his records if he had stuff like "Only Time Will Tell" in his collection.

It was the only way Pete could continue talking about the size of some dude's snake after "Rough Boys" and "And I Moved."

48 Hrs was '82? wow.

put a sewer snake in your ribcage,
put a frampton face on the front page,
drop a lawsuit to assuage,
metaphors like these come with age

GPoS (guilty pleasure) America.

loverly harmonies, but the lyrics?  Ai-oh!

You know darn well
When you cast your spell you will get your way
When you hypnotize with your eyes
A heart of stone can turn to clay
Doo, doo, doo ...

Is a heart of clay an improvement over a heart of stone?  or not?

Well, stone is hard, clay is soft.  Still doesn't pump much blood, but I think softness is what they were going for.  Of course, if you take your heart of clay and make Jars of Clay, all bets are off...
