Title: The Peak, 5/24/06: Happy birthday, Zimmy!
Post by: Gazoo on May 24, 2006, 07:10:51 AM
Bobby becomes a senior citizen to the strains of "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" and "Subterranean Homesick Blues," the latter of which I just heard 20 minutes ago on Don Imus (my friend Eddie, who stays here part-time, is a fan).

To hear this setlist tell the story, Dylan's recording career only spanned 1963-1966.  Feh.

The set's only half over, Mr Crankypants.

KFOG is paying homage on the Morning Show (I dunno if we're getting a Dylan 10@10 from Dave). Way to attract that younger demographic!

ETA: Interestingly, we DID get a Dylan set last year, when he was 64.

I've never heard this before.  Only surprise of set, so by default BOS.  What album's it from?  It reminds me of the Stones' "Angie."

Everything is Broken, forever associated in my mind with the '89 quake, thanks to Dave's segues. (I'd never heard the song until Dave played it; this LP wasn't on the NYC radio menu in '89).

You can call him Zimmy, or you can call him Timmy...

A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall (live)
Subterranean Homesick Blues
Mr. Tambourine Man
Like A Rolling Stone
Visions of Johanna (mono take)
All Along the Watchtower
Tangled Up In Blue
Senor
Everything Is Broken
Summer Days

Ten songs obviously just scratches the surface.  Here's hoping Ginger and Dave will follow Rob's lead.
