Early BOS, "Let it Ride."  One of those songs that overwhelm with waves of nostalgia.

But was "Let it Ride" from 1974?  Not Fragile, which just happens to be in my cd player, is from '74, and LIR is on BTO II.

it was a hit single in early '74; Not Fragile came out in late summer iirc.

OMGWTF! WOS "Seasons in the Sun", one of the worst disembowelments of a great song ever to hit #1.

I'm in your camp on this one, not Rod's.  Hard to believe this is the only Beatles cover that ever hit #1, but there you go.

Whitburn sez it entered the chart on 3/23/74, peaking at #23 during a 9-week stay.

I realize many find it long and ponderous, but I found it quite audacious at the time.

Back in those days, people used to really pump out the music.  "Heaven" by Los Lonely Boys came on the this morning as I drove to work, and I'm thinking, aint it about time they came out with another album?  Their debut was 2003.

Another BOS to "Rebel Rebel."

And, to be honest, I was just being snarky with the WOS to Elton.  It IS overblown and unnecessary, but not nearly as bad as "Locomotion" and "Seasons In the Sun".

VHM Teresa Graves. "Would I jive you?"

BOS4 Hollies, as gorgeous a ballad as has ever hit the Top Ten.

A bit cheese heavy, but this has been a very fun set, especially with the soundbite materials.

BOS #6 to the Catman.

...instead of bein' my deliverance
she had a strange resemblance
to a cat named Frankenstein.

I was just trying to decide if I hated it or not.  It's so noisy and jangly and kinda grates, but it has something......

Grand Funk  -  The Locomotion
BTO  -  Let it Ride
Gordon Lightfoot  -  Sundown
Linda Ronstadt  -  You're No Good
Eric Clapton  -  Mainline Florida
Elton John  -  Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Terry Jacks  -  Seasons in the Sun
David Bowie  -  Rebel Rebel
The Hollies  -  The Air that I Breathe
Cat Stevens  -  Another Saturday Night

the Drive web intern misspelled it as "Grank Funk"... maybe there's a hip-hop act called Crunk Funk?
