OMGWTFLOL! BOS3 John, "How Do You Sleep?"  Wow.

"those freaks was right when they said you was dead..."

ETA: I always thought "jump when your mama tell you anything" was pretty hilarious coming from a guy married to Yoko.

Me too.  But until I searched the lyrics I'd never caught the 'Muzak to my ears' putdown.  Damn but he had a bug up his butt.

So Sgt. Pepper took you by surprise
You better see right through that mother's eyes
Those freaks was right when they said you was dead
The one mistake you made was in your head
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

You live with straights who tell you you was king
Jump when your momma tell you anything
The only thing you done was yesterday
And since you're gone you're just another day
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

A pretty face may last a year or two
But pretty soon they'll see what you can do
The sound you make is muzak to my ears
You must have learned something in all those years
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

BOS4: Joe Cocker, "High Time we Went".  Best '71 set in a long time.

ETA: is he really saying "This is madness" towards the end? and "don't forget the lemonade lime?"

Damn, I'd've LOVED Tom Jones and the J-5.

But the Who's nice too. BOS5.

When Ginger said, "Back in 2 minutes with Joe Cocker", I wasn't expecting this: "High Time We Went".   BOS #whatever, Ginger rules!

BOS, the cheese medley!

Mike, I couldn't ID the last one, help me out.

Another BOS for The 'Oo, Pete noodling around on the piano.

This song is over
I'm left with only tears
I must remember
Even if it takes a million years

Me neither -- I thought it sounded kinda prog, sorta Moodies-ish (though obviously not them), and I wondered why it was in that medley.

Prog being put to good use, tho' (anti-war, anti-wealth), instead of just pretentious incoherent gibberish (see: Rush).

"And what's YOUR bag, Klute?"

BOS6 Long John Baldry's boojy-woojy, mi'lord!

I think it might be "Wardour St", but agreed -- one of Ginger's best.

Exactly which 4 songs DIDN'T get BOS votes in this set?  Just curious, mind.  I find myself in ten-way tie territory.

Yep, Wardour it is.  In the Picadilly/Soho area I think.

I expect to be doing that very thing (proceding down Wardour Street, hopefully not contravening a breach of the peace) in a week or so.

Can. Not. Wait. I needs me a vacation.

Are you referring to "D.O.A." by Bloodrock?  ("Iiiiiiii remember / We were flying low, and hit something in the air ...")  A real uplifter.  I put it next to "Turn-Down Day" on a mix once.

Do you remember a band called Sweet Thursday? they had a song called "Gilbert St" ("get your ticket on the Central line...") that was big on FM prog radio in the early '70s. That's another one I thought of often when I was in London.

Nope, you've lost me on that one. If I've heard it, it hasn't been for decades. I'll snoop around and see what I can turn up though.
