Title: The Drive, 04/10/06: It's 1975
Post by: Gazoo on April 10, 2006, 08:15:37 AM
Tuned in late and heard OMD's "Jackie Blue" at about a quarter after.  Might have to cut out early, as I have a review of Michael Nesmith's new album due imminently.

The top 5 TV shows of 1975, sez Bob:
5. Bionic Woman
4. Maude
3. Laverne & Shirley
2. Rich Man, Poor Man [I have never seen this show in my life]
1. All in the Family

"The band performs in the nude" -- uh-uh, it's Sugarloaf sounding like John, Paul, and George.  But not Ringo, apparently.  I wonder if the public knew what "percentage points" meant in this context, not that that kept this song (or the Raspbs' "Overnight Sensation," for that matter) from becoming a big hit.

Ha!  Don Meredith plugs Lipton Flo-Thru tea bags!  Presumably not of a labial variety, however.

OMGWTFLOL, it's Rush!  FLY!BY!NIGHT!

No one else is here today?  Ah well.  Y'all missed Paul at his most pleasant, "Listen to What the Man Said."  The wonder of it all, baby.

got a late start this a.m. but it's spring break week so traffic was lighter than usual & I actually made up time coming over the Sunol grade.

Listening to Luther singing back up for Bowie on "Young Americans".
