and I'm pretty certain it's 1974.
-
I thought it was a touch later, like 1976.
At least I wasn't the guy who called in.
-
and I'm pretty certain it's 1974.
you are correct sir!
Coulda been '75 too, but we did that year last week...
-
BOS Macca! "Ninteen Hundred and Eighty Five". Woo Hoo!
-

you are correct sir!
I'll third that. And welcome back to the fold, Mr. Gazoo. Hope your trip was everything you hoped.
HM to 1985, Wings.

Seconding that BOS, no shock there. I wonder why Paulie didn't use the numeral "1985" for the title . . .
P.S. I remain convinced that Franz Ferdinand could cover this song and do fun things with it.

Everything and then some. I'll tell tales when I catch up on some biznits here on the homefront. But if I may foreshadow: Don't be surprised if I've moved back to SF by year's end. Much depends on job prospects and progress, but this past week reminded me that quality of life must, must, MUST reign supreme over quality of curriculum vitae.

And speaking of Macca, last night's Minus 5 show was opened with a solo McCartney tune I've never ever seen covered by anyone before. But I'll recount all of that over in the Concerts thread. ;-)

Fogheads are the CWAZIEST people! (and the dumbest)
BOS 2 Any Major Dude -- TANC, since Gaz & I listened to the Tom Robinson cover of "Rikki Don't Lose..." which appropriates the bridge from this song.
-
VHM to "Any Major Dude," which Mike and I just heard a snippet of Monday by way of Tom Robinson's "Ricky [sic] Don't Lose That Number" cover.
-
Tom Robinson JINX (though we both knew it would happen)!
-
LOL - "Whoops, gotta go!" - Dave kills me sometimes.
P.S. A '90s year-o-mystery would be FAR more difficult (which is probably why Dave's never done one AFAIK).
-
This song really takes me back to 1974. I remember seeing the Hues Corporation play it "live" on Wonderama. Anybody see that or even remember that show? It was on channel 11 in Los Angeles. Damn, the things you remember. It was hosted by someone sort of famous...was it Wink Martindale? Doesn't sound right...

Actually he has, more than once, tho' don't ask me which years. I seem to recall that our first visit to '91 or '92 was a Mystery Year.
-
VHM2 to the Doobs, "Another Park, Another Sunday," simply gorgeous harmonies on this.

In NYC we had "Wonderama"; it was hosted by either Sonny Fox or Sandy Becker (but that ws in the early '60s.
-
Nice selection so far but no clear BOS for me.
VHM to the Doobies, Another Park Another Sunday. Coulda sworn we were gonna hear You Haven't Done Nothin' after that Watergate clip.
-
BOS 3 the Tymes! Dave, you little trustmaker!
-
BREAKOUT!
BOS2 to the Tymes, "You Little Trustmaker"!!!
-
Oy vay, the Tymes--You Little Trustmaker! BOS on novelty factor alone.
Haven't heard this since the mid 70s at the latest!
-
BREAKOUT!
BOS2 to the Tymes, "You Little Trustmaker"!!!
he has played it before, but it's been ages.
-
Yes Dave it IS. Enuf with milking the fake suspense for dumb Fogheads.
VHM Billy P, tho' hearing "That's The Way God Planned it" the other day on VIPRadio.com makes this seem more Katrina-ish than it should.
-
Normally both "Nothing From Nothing" and "A Dream Goes On Forever" would be BOS contenders, but this set is just an embarrassment of riches. Potential set o' the month and we're only one day in!

Agreed -- docking Todd a notch or 2 for fronting the Cars.
Mshray didn't miss anthing on the Boulder side, but he's gonna be pissed he didn't hear this one.
Yikes, "Spiders & Snakes". I'd've preferred "My Girl Bill"...
-
BOS 3? 4? Bobby W!!
-
BOS 4? 5? Bobby W!!
YEPPERS!
Picked a good day to work at home--the CD's burnin'...
-
Hey Mike, what was that Bobby Wo song we heard Monday afternoon that consisted of him just vamping over a freaky instrumental? (Yes, I know that describes a lot of his songs, but this one took it to its logical extreme.)

Apparently, it was Bob McAllister when I watched it. No reason to remember him, I suppose.

I'd love to. But when I click on the "listen" link/button, it routes me to a page that says, "Sorry, deep linking is not allowed." Doing this both in Firefox and IE. Am I doing something wrong?

Alejandro is still around, but Dave's mentioned Jose several times in the past week, so we've been ragging on him 'bout it. By all means change the header.

If ya don't mind, please do, just to make it easier to find later on. Or I can use my Moderator superpowers to do it later.

"deep linking" -- sounds like an unsafe sex practice.
BTW the "just played" feature on the player doesn't always work.

Posting here for no better reason than to bring this thread back to the top of the forum and preserve chrono order. OCD at its finest, that's me.
