Ho Lee Cow!  Where did Dave get that snippet about the Pentagon Papers?  Was that real or fictionalized?

"I'd start at the top and fire some people."

Very real.  became available just a year or 2 ago, I believe. He's played it maybe once or twice before. Amazing stuff.

I called in my BOS just now, "We're well on the way to ten-way tie territory, but if I have to pick one I'll go with Bread because of the great segue from the Pentagon Papers tape."

Dave said, "Thanks for noticing."

I keep telling you guys, it's the usually the segues that Dave is getting off on.  Gots to pay attention.

Dude, it's ... you know.  But one of my fave Yessongs.

It's still not clear to me if they're saying "instant comment" (which is what it sounds like to me) or "instant karma" (which many people think, including other artists who've covered the tune). It make sense to initial a "comment" but not a "karma".

Since they quote other Lennon lyrics in this song, why wouldn't the say Instant Karma?

ETA:  and btw, since when do you expect Yes lyrics to make sense?

One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you

That's OK- Scarlett's got enough fine, alabaster upholstery in the rear to make up for it (you can't see it in this pic cuz it's on the flappy-foldout part so as not to upset the more genteel).

mmmm, alabaster upholstery....

You want inscrutable Yes lyrics? Don't get me started or we might end up with Tales of Topographic Oceans here--and you don't want that.

Trust me.

It's truly a thing of beauty how well-versed this group is on porn stars of the late 70's & early 80's, including even Mike.  Rod can even claim to have worked in the industry.

Well, in the '70s I was still in school, and not "out", so I couldn't go to gay porn, but I could go to straight porn theatres during the "golden age".

Kitten N isn't really "porn", tho', is she? Didn't she do Russ Meyer stuff? That's soft-core and doesn't really count as porn in my book. Now Georgina Spelvin, THERE was an actress...

She did both Russ Meyer & some harder stuff, of course I liked the latter (this was when I was in college), although it would be quite tame (and probably show on Cinemax) today.

Bonus: "Mercy Mercy Me"

and Annalisa just said they're doing a Marvin Gaye biopic starring Jesse L. Martin of "Law & Order" and Rent.

I'm too lazy to look for it but I swear I said in these pages, after seeing him in Rent (first time I'd seen him, since I don't watch L&O) that he'd be perfect to play Marvin.  Or maybe I just said it to the princess in person.  But damn, I said it someplace -- I should be workin' in Hollyweird.
