Title: 30 Jan 2006: Fogheads @ 15
Post by: RGMike on January 29, 2006, 09:02:15 PM
Hey urth, just read your great "Born to Run" story on Dave's blog. Love the way the censorship software took the "homo" out of the word
sop(homo)re.  Not to mention all those "ass"es.

I saw on another post that it even takes the "69" out of 1969...

I don't have a problem with Freebird other than it's a little tired.

I was prepared not to want you baby but you sound OK.

and builds.... and builds... and...

as Southern-rock, babe-I-love-ya-but-I'm-a-ramblin-man songs go, I prefer, well, "Ramblin Man". Or "Heard it in a Love Song". Cain't be wrong!

BOS the Cat Man.  This is me at 16, closest we'll probably come today.

Certainly a WOS from RGM.
another BOS from me. But will reduce to VHM in light of Neil and Cat BOS's already given.

no, not a WOS. It's overplayed, but it's still a lovely tune.

Hey, everybody. So, I was 15 in 1980- have we heard that yet?

(I'm not as good at the "what year was this song released" game as y'all are...)

Glad you liked it--this set is already pretty 70s-centric, so I'll be surprised if it makes the cut.

Logging in late--I'm having one of those "shoulda stood in bed" kinda days. Muni meltdown, got in half an hour late therefrom, then bigtime computer issues on my usual terminal, so having to log in from a temp system. No bookmarks, shortcuts or any of what I'm used to.

There's no place like home, there's no place like home...

the blog has followed this list exactly -- no "Dave's choice".

"I'm late, and they'll yell at me" ???

I remember when 10@10 would run 50 mins+ on a regular basis.

Yeah, that was really weird. Two or three long songs, and Dave's on thin ice.

On the other hand, the Bonus track is back. Guess it was just a "rock of ages" conflict thing.

Nope, the question was about an artist who was popular when HE was 15 (Stevie Winwood) so the caller got the option of a few Spencer Davis/Traffic tunes, but god bless him, he called an audible and asked for a Traffic tune that wasn't one of the options: Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, and Annalisa complied and played the 11 minute version. Kind of ironic since it was the long song thing that got Dave all twitterpated.
