Lou's doot-de-doot's are sounding extra special to me following right after Stevie.

BOS to "All the Girls Love Alice."  Perhaps Elton's most angry song, even though it's not generally treated as such.

BOS3 the Cat Man, "Hurt".  Quite a set, full of sledgehammer moments for me.  Set Of The Week, barring a visit to the '60s.

Nope I think it's been played before, but not for a long long time. BOS for me, too.

i think it is a bustout!! except for the last time this set was played (i don't know if the "redux" in this post title refers to a repeat set, or that the same year was played earlier today).

The Drive did '73 too -- and Bob played Looking Glass.

BOS4 Buckingham/Nicks.  Now we're in Set of the Month territory.

Wow, is this Buckingham/Nicks with "Crystal" before Fleetwood Mac did it?  I didn't know this existed!  Amazing set today.

ah, the warmth of vinyl.

Yay Ringo! a career peak with "Photograph". Suddenly I'm in the Fordham U parking lot listening to the radio between classes.

I really like Ringo's "Photograph".  I'm gonna say 8-way tie for everything except Lou & Elton, which are certified '73 Katrinas now.

But there's a world of difference between a '73 Katrina and, say, an '87 Katrina.

Truer words have never been spoken -- that's the Quote of the Week!

How DOES your light shine in the halls of Shambala? Seriously, I need to know!

1/17/06 - Tuesday!  The Big Wheel stops on...1973!!!

Pointer Sisters - Yes, We Can Can
BTO - Let it Ride
Stevie Wonder - Too High
Lou Reed - Walk on the Wild Side
Elton John - All the Girls Love Alice (B-O-S!!)
Looking Glass - Jimmy Loves Mary-Anne
Cat Stevens - The Hurt
Buckingham & Nicks - Crystal
Ringo Starr - Photograph
Three Dog Night - Shambala
BONUS TRACK:  J. Geils Band - Give it To Me

Checked the files and the Cat Stevens track was definitely not a bust-out. I show it's been played at least twice since August of '03. However the Buckingham-Nicks track may have been a first-timer. Yep, if there's a better set this week, I can't wait to hear it.

I haven't looked in the database, but I'm under the impression we've heard it before.  But since I have the vinyl, and saw them do it live, my memories could be melting together!

We've definitely heard something from that LP before; the subject of "is it out on CD yet?" always comes up. Whether we heard "Crystal" or a different track, I can't say.

I know we've heard "Don't Let Me Down Again" a few times, not sure about "Crystal" though.
