"hungry Like the Wolf". Hmmm...

Well, it's early 80s. That much I can tell...
-
"Fascination" -- that says 1983 to me.
-
hey, hey, hey, heeeyyyyy
-
people always told me/be careful what you do...
-
The other nite at the gym I heard Mr Oakey's fab collab w/Giorgio Moroder, "Electric Dreams", which would brighten any '84 set.
Ah, "Billie Jean" Heeeee-heee! Coulda done without those dumb Fogheads, tho' -- 1978??? Jeez.

people always told me/be careful what you do...
"don't go 'round breakin' young boys arse..."

ETA: I wonder if he'll ever come back from Baharain...
-

This is from Gaz's link on the Funny Stuff... thread (best if read out loud/subvocalized):
Q: Why does Michael Jackson like 28 year-olds?
A: Because there are 20 of them.
-
Mo-dren JINX!

LOL! I like "what's black and white and comes in little cans?"
ETA: actually the joke is supposed to be "what's white and comes in little cans?" Yer supposed to think of evaporated milk, see?
another BOS JJ, "Real Men". A better-than-average '83 set. We've done well this week, "classics"-wise.

Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf
Human League - Fascination
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Talking Heads - Moon Rocks
The Clash - Mustapha Dance (Rock The Casbah)
Psychadelic Furs - Love My Way
Styx - Mr. Roboto
Madness - Our House
Joe Jackson - Real Men
Jackson Browne - Tender Is The Night
BONUS TRACK: Prince - Little Red Corvette
Hmm, not a bad 83 set--certainly better than a few I know we've heard. My BOS would have probably been the T. Heads song, which I don't ever recall hearing in a 10@10. Still, I think I picked a good day to go play disc golf. We played the (very soggy) Aquatic park course in Berkeley. I shot pretty badly, averaged about one over per hole, but good to get out and get a bit of activity before the rain resumes.
Now I'm curious about what we'll hear for the last set of '05. A 72 or 73 set would be most welcome....

Were any of you geeky enough to chart how many times we visited each year on the wheel in '05? Did we hit '95 more than once? I have a feeling we won't add a new year for at least a month.

At LEAST. We didn't get around to '96 until 2/3 of the way thru 2005, iirc. Here's hoping Dave plays "Mmmmbop" when '97 rears it's not-so-ugly head.

The 1997 set I'm going to propose to Dave, pending suggestions:
1. U2, "Discotheque"
2. Chemical Brothers f/ Noel Gallagher, "Setting Sun"
3. Space, "Female of the Species"
4. Squirrel Nut Zippers, "Hell"
5. White Town, "Your Woman"
6. Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark, "Walking on the Milky Way"
7. R.E.M., "E-Bow the Letter"
8. Wallflowers, "Sixth Avenue Heartache"
9. Sneaker Pimps, "6 Underground"
10. Portishead, "Sour Times (Nobody Loves Me)"
And this doesn't even dip into the No Doubt catalog. How did modern rock have such an amazing, amazing recovery this year?
(P.S. I very nearly included Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems," and probably should have.)
