And it still blows my mind that this was NRBQ's only charting single.

Well, now I feel no guilt about bailing early... '74 sets rule, but I've got a date with King Kong.

Merry Happy and Happy Merry, y'all!

"Heroes", yes, as Dave admitted.  Al was probably right:  The TH cover was '77.

Well, my friends- I fear I must bolt. I've been a busy elf this month with work (both dayjob & murder mystery) and today is no exception.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend & an awesome Holidaze!

See ya next week!

Love,
Beej

PS: I've been compiling CDs of cool Christmas music to give to my Mom & other members of the Family Weir.

I'll post the "set-lists" tomorrow. If you want a copy of any 'em- just let me know. You'll be prepared for next year!

Really dug today's classic, despite the fact that it wasn't the customary Xmas card. Would have chimed in on several topics but was too busy madly cleaning the house in anticipation of Mom's arrival (she made it from Sac just after noon, in under two hours.)

Really enjoyed Pretzel Logic--I know Dave's played it a few times but not nearly enough.

Gaz, I share your amazement re: NRBQ, but that's Terry Adams for you--he's too much of a maverick to ever go along with much of the record company BS. As I'm sure you know, they have much more catchy songs that never got a whisper of airplay. Anyone here ever heard Rain at the Drive-in? I rest my case.

Yep, the Bowie was indeed 77--I pointed that fact out to Sarah as it was playing, and was glad DM copped to it in the back-sell.

And Rev Al would have gotten my BOS vote, regardless of NRBQ's presence.

So in case I don't get back this way again before Xmas day, hope you all have the Christmas you are hoping for, and you all get an iPod under the tree (unless you've already got one.)

hugs,
Jim

Btw, here's the setlist:
