Title: Wednesday Dec 21--it's 1976
Post by: urth on December 21, 2005, 10:03:26 AM
And leading off with the Flamin' Groovies--an easy early BOS pick! I'd love it if DM topped this, but if not I'm happy.

Great avatar holiday fix! How'd you do it?
I thought I heard 76 then didn't recognize tune and thought maybe it was 86. Oy.

This is ringing a bell -- iirc, this was a fine set.

"we blew it in the right direction, young man..."  Oh that Gerry, what a card.

OK, getting the Framptrina out of the way early. Hope Ali's listening.

Thanks, but you'll have to ask Gaz--he was the genius with the Photoshop. I just uploaded it. But it is pretty nice. (Looking forward to the bunny ears for easter!)

Can somebody fix my avatar up with a Santa hat?  I feel so left out.

When was htis set first played?  I'm pretty sure I never heard Dave play the Flamin' Groovies except in last year's local-artists-of-the-70's set.

It appears to be the Santa hat from my SantaHomer avatar.  Nice work, Gazmeister.

"Shake Some Action" has made sporadic appearances in '76 sets. As has (shudder) "Jeans On", which we actually heard in our last visit to this year, iirc.

As we did with Show Me the Way, too, I believe.

VHM Ms Nightingale. Currently being danced to by Sarah Jessica Parker in Family Stone and used in the promos for that new Heather Graham sitcom.

I always blame Jimmy Carter for saying that Americans should get the government we deserve...

OOooo, and here's BOS2: Bowie's Stay, featuring the growling guitar of Earl Slick and some rock-solid drumming by Dennis Davis.

One advantage to working at home: better headphones and a much more powerful amp behind them.

What a fab set!  I'll have to stay up late to catch the replay.

Geoff - Nice job on Mshray's Santa hat for W.
Glad you all liked my work on the angel Gabriel (Mike, that was indeed Homer's hat, good eye!).
