And Dave sez we're playing spot the Vinyls, so that could be a good sign.

Could be.

And it appears we get one of the "vinyls" on song #2--the Delbert is sounding pretty warm to me.

aaaack! "Sausalito Summer Katrina".  Think this is vinyl, tho'

And kudos for the political segue: the PATCO strike followed by Reagan talking about those nasty union-busting commies.

I think this Diesel track is always on vinyl, as I'd be surprised if anyone ever bothered to put it back into print on CD.  I can't tell by audio -- I use cheap speakers.

he's found his way home. I'd prefer "Friends of Mr Cairo", but this is actually sounding nice today. Dude, it's tolerable prog rock!

Tubes, "Amnesia" -- I forget, is this officially a Katrina yet?

Hearing Ronald Reagan's voice always threatens to ruin my day.

Hearing Tubes go corporate-rock in the quest for a hit single doesn't help.  Dare I hope Dave finds some room for Marty Balin's "Hearts" (he's never played it, even though Marty's 1978 JS hits are all near-Katrinas), ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All," or REO's "Keep on Loving You"?

echoes of that "guns in my head" song kfog used to play in the early 90's. well...not sure how much they played it, but it was on their first cd sampler.

WOS to AC/DC.  Important in the band's history, I know, but I've heard the riff sampled so many times by uncreative techno/electro dance DJs that it's just noise.  Besides, Brian Johnson's voice is nails-to-the-chalkboard for me.

Shut up!!! (Saying that in a friendly way!) AC/DC totally works for me. I guess one's misery is another's pleasure.

One man's nails-to-the-chalkboard is another man's balls-to-the-wall.

BOS3 Pretenders, but this is not one of Dave's more creative '81 excursions.

My problems with AC/DC has always been the nails-to-the-chalboard vocals, Brian Johnson or the original guy.

I think 9 to 5 would have been a great follow-up to Back in Black, with the intro "and now for something different..."

BOS to Dolly.  Nice production gimmick, using a typewriter for percussion.

it wasn't initially intentional, but once I typed it out, I realized someone would probably riff on it indeed!

I got to hear the beginning of the replay last night as I was driving from OAK back to my house.  I'd have voted for "Message of Love" for sure.
