Bob's substitute plays ELP's "Lucky Man"  -- musta been a late December release, 'cause I associate it with summer of '71.

From a review of ELP's "Beyond the Beginning" DVD on amazon.com:

"at one point, Bob Moog is talking about the first time he heard Keith's famous 'Lucky Man' lead part... and he says something like 'no one had ever heard that sound before... the square-wave & glide thing'. The problem is... Keith borrowed that sound and the glide from the track "The Minotaur" by Dick Hyman."

So it's not just you!

They must know Geoff's listening: "Sugar Magnolia", sounding good to me too.  My fave period of their career.

post-set: Carly's "You're So Vain", the only Top 40 hit that contains the word "gavotte", rhymed with "yacht" and "apricot".
