bos: traffic!!!
agreed, this is one you never hear (unlike "Tuesday Afternoon" which is way too much of a '68trina).
Monkees for Gaz, spoken intro & all. 7-A!

Which Foundations track did I miss? It's been a couple years since Dave played their non-hit, "When I'm Back on My Feet Again," and I'd love to hear it on the replay tonight.

Satanic messages in Monkees songs? Didn't hear it, but BOS for Traffic.

Dave started pretty early though, Human Beinz was actually the TotHC & it was ony 10:02 when Hendrix started.
BOS #whatever, "Scarborough Fair/Canticle"

"Baby Now That I Found You". Most of these songs are nice, but except for the Traffic, this is strictly paint-by-numbers 1968. Dave must be anxious to go home today.
BOS BST. "Can't Quit Her"

bos#2: blood, sweat and tears!!

Huh? dave played the not-often-heard intro to "DB",
Davy: "what number is this?"
All: "7-A!"

Oh. Got it.

another BOS to "Street Fighting Man", sounding real good in the context of the rest of the '68 stuff today.
-
BOS2 "Street Fightin' Mayon".
-
"who's making love...?" yay!
-
BOS3 "Who's Makin' Love?" Johnny Taylor (the natch'l wailer).
-
Bonus Track = Quicksilver Messenger Service "Dino's Song". Once again the BT would have been a strong BOS contender had Dave been the one to play it.
Tip o' the hat to that Foghead, he could have picked "Eleanor"

Kudos to Annalisa for having "Elenor" as one of the choices

For those who don't know the backstory: John Stewart wrote the song in a key that Davy normally didn't have the range for. After several unsuccessful takes, an angered Davy asked the producer (Chip Douglas, IIRC) what take they were on. (They had an intricate filing system for their takes.) The producer and someone else in the studio, equally exasperated, shouted back "7-A" in unison. Davy played it off with a joke, but it wasn't as gleeful as the song's coda would have you believe.

BIOS (Best Instrument of Set) goes to the bass player on "I Can't Quit Her." Gonna have to look that one up, but whoever he is, he jiggles in and out of the pocket like big balls.

Jim Fielder was the bassist. Al Kooper raved about Jim. Here's the time I saw BS&T:

Quite a lineup. Did you see the show at the Fillmore or Winterland?
