Post by: RGMike on December 07, 2005, 09:01:57 AM
Betcha Ginger beats Dave again.

On the other hand, I'm no fan of Big Head Todd & the Blowfish, er, Monsters.

Well this qualifies as LSOS (least surprising of set), so we can only go up from here, n' c'est pas?

And it's not that bad anyway.

going downhill with this godawful rap thang -- is this G.Love? 'cause I think Ginger played this in a '94 set a month or 2 back.  Can ya tell KBCO's target demo is younger than KFOG's?

I didn't mind it that much, but I doubt it was G Love.  Was that movie clip from Speed or Johny Mnemonic?

Okay, so that was G. Love, what do I know.  For those checking later we also heard Pearl Jam & Phish in the first 5.

I never forget a bad rap record.

VHM, the original version of "Laid" which that Nathanson remake that KFOG played to death a couple of years ago did nothing to improve.

I'm already self-conscious about piling on Petty, but he really is going through the motions here on "Good to Be King."

VVHM to that clip from The Critic, a very funny show that never got its due.

If only we could hear Mel Brooks' "It's Good to be the King" in an '80s set.

It's a helluva drug.  Better to have the "Night in My Veins".  BOS2.

Credit where credit is due: methinks Dave's '94 set was more entertaining.

I'd have to agree at this point.

What was that movie clip from?

Most unexpected of set: Martin Page, "In the House of Stone and Light."  I distinctly remember this being a hit in the summer of '95, though: It was in constant AC rotation along with Sophie B. Hawkins's "As I Lay Me Down" at the luggage store I was working at in Brookline, MA.

I'm kinda surprised it didn't even make the top 40.  And from a shoulda-been-a-hit to a shoulda-been-Oscar-nommed Meg Ryan.

And "House of Stone & Light", which WAS a hit, iirc.

You are correct, sir.  Guessing the LP came out late '94.
