JCM and Me'shell N'Degeocello's (sp?) take on Wild Night is TOTHC. Eh.

Bummer, indeed. But at least 94 has better potential than some of the late 80s/early 90s years.

But this Bonnie Raitt tune isn't what I meant by "potential."

Most Representative of Set: Lisa Loeb, "Stay (I Missed You)."  I was all about this song that spring/summer.

VHM to Bonnie, skewering hypocrisy.   I predict Beck, Weezer, and "Streets of Philly" (and those streets were mighty cold last nite!).

Didja catch Ginger's set?  That was more worthwhile, and she's a lot better in the 90's as a rule.

Wit'cha, Gaz. Don't think I have EVER heard this, but it's not bad.

ETA: Geoff, I see you just swapped out your avatar--what is that from? It looks vaguely Gerald Scarfe-ish (Pink Floyd's The Wall) but not quite.

Mark, I refreshed my screen and read this post pretty much exactly in synch with Beck singing this line--TANC.

So far it's that Sleeping in my Car tune that's got the best shot at my BOS vote. Sheryl Crow certainly isn't doing it.

If Dave sticks to his 'charts, not releases ethic' then about the only Nirvana choice for '94 is "About A Girl".

But I'll bet a pretty penny we hear Bruce "Streets of Philadelphia" before we're done, probably "tune number ten".

She did some songs I like, most especially that one and "A Change Would Do You Good."  But I don't think she holds notes well without another vocalist or instrument to keep her steady (I find "Strong Enough" difficult to listen to) and I think she's been coasting these last few years.  "Good Is Good"?!

She did an absolute stunner on one of the post-9/11 concerts, and I wish I could remember its title.

No idea what Carlene's state is at the moment--she sort of dropped out of sight after said junkie bassist (Howie Epstein, for those of you keeping score at home) bought the farm. One assumes someone did an intervention and got her into rehab, but god knows if it stuck or not--as those things tend to go.

But boy, did she and Epstein look bad when all that came down--heroin is nasty stuff, no question.

Have I ever told the story of One Ball John?  A friend of my brother's who we used to bowl league with.  After his bout with testicular cancer, every time he rolled a strike we'd take up the chant "One ball John!  One ball John!"

Alchohol made it much funnier.
