And our second Proxy of Cairo of the day.

Predictions: a non-hit from the Eagles, and Bloodstone's "Natural High."

Heh - "Blinded" before and after.  Now we can do a proper comparison.

Needless to say, I'll take the lean 'n' hungry Broooce.

either prediction would be most welcome, as would Skylark's "Wildflower" (since I've heard the New Birth version twice in recent weeks on KPOO). Given Ginger's anti-pop bias, I'd say the Eagles are a better bet. "Doolin' Dalton", anyone?

Is this Buckingham-Nicks?  And what was playing behind the monologue about not going for hell-bent types any more?

I assumed that was the soundtrack music from that scene. Been a while since I've seen the film.

Ginger's doin' her very best Bogart, playin' one of Mr Browne's best, "Ready or Not" (which Rob played last week).

VHM to a Stones song from GHS that I haven't heard in ages.

Which was it?

P.S.  Somehow going to China & back has cured my laptop of whatever glitch it was that prevented KBCO's stream from loading properly for over a week last month.

I knew you'd do that.

As I've said before, not my fave George -- lyrically trite ("Give me hope/ Help me cope"? I mean, come on!) even if heartfelt.  I'd like something else from that LP some '73 set ("Don't Meke me Wait too Long" is from LITMW, no?).

VHM Westworld, the directorial debut of a VERY successful novelist.

Ginger must have Yul Brynner on the brain -- she played his anti-smoking PSa yesterday, and now Westworld.  Maybe tomorrow she can do 1985 and play "One Night in Bangkok"

"Boy, have we got a vacation for you!"

What the heck was that!?

And for that matter what's this tune with the jazzy organ intro?  Sounds a little like Ambrosia...

See above for movie.  This is someone's version of "Happiness is Just 'round the Bend", but I'm not sure who.

I loved the extended instro-intro on this "Happiness" song, initially misidentifying it as the Main Ingredient; I don't know who it is and the vox are kind of disappointing me.  Again with that Rhodes piano sound.

MI did the original, no? Or am I wrong?  This is kinda Brian Auger-ish.

Ya mean the one called "Winter"?

Seriously, that has to be one of the least-played great Stones songs ever.

It was buried in my brain from back in the day; that version got some FM play in NY, tho' it was far from a hit.  I agree with Gaz: would that we could unite the Auger instrumentation with Cuba Gooding Sr's vocal on the original.

But Al Gore invented it, and he's not parting with it.
