Simple Minds' "Promised You a Miracle," Eddie Murphy's sketch on Buckwheat and cereal-named relatives, and Elvis C's "Beyond Belief."  As good a 1982 as could have been hoped for.

But yeah, Imperial  Bedroom is genius (and sadly, an EC LP not on Dave's radar).
