One of the most intense thing I've ever seen was a Link Wray concert at Winterland around '74.  He had a new album at the time

and it was getting a lot of airplay on KSAN.

I might have seen him one other time during this period, but he was otherworldly in his playing.  In addition, John Cippolina came out, with his full stack with the horns and all, and his SG Batwing guitar, and the two of them shredded my eardrums somethin' fierce, I must say.  I have another LP where Jerry Garcia does a guest spot on one track, but the one above is the one to get.  I wish I could find it on CD.

He played these Burns guitars from the UK that had a setting on them labeled "Mad Dog."

Indeed, quite sad -- I heard about it on KPIG this morning and didn't get a chance to post.
