Given the number of '60s & '70s tunes in yesterday's Movie set, I'm guessing we're headed to the '90s today.
well, close: '87, which I had predicted last week. It's actually been quite a while since we got a new set from this year.
Bowie "Never Let Me Down" to start.
-
Peter Falk in that Wim Wenders flick about angels --> "In God's Country" U2 with a well-worn track from Joshua Tree.

That was a weird clip. Columbo in heaven?
-
Stranglers, "Always the Sun". BOS1.

If this isn't a bustout, it certainly hasn't been played very much. BOSFRA.
On the other hand, In God's Country is a FF on the playlist, not sure what its 10@10 scorecard looks like.

Great movie.

Turns out it's been played in three different '87 sets, two of which have also turned up as encores. So maybe less of a rarity than I would have guessed.

FMac get it up for love, or something. another serious FF.
-
Jody Watley with some "HAAAAAY!" -- hasta la vista, bay-bee! BOS2 just because.
-

Stevie and Lindsey really need to get a room on that one.

I agree, a really good movie. IIRC, Peter Falk plays himself in the film.

This was especially fun to listen to when you're 16.

Kinda steamy with all that huffing and puffing, but it's also one of the better Big Mac tunes post-Tusk, IMO. BOS here.

Reagan; Iran Contra and "just say no" --> We Care a Lot". BOS3. I miss Roddy Bottum.

You just like typing "Roddy Bottum." :)
BOS3 or 4, FNM.
-
VHM Los Lobos "C'mon Let's Go", which is preferable to "La Bamba" IMHO.
-
BOS4 Peter Wolf's fab "Come as You Are" -- often a TOTHK, but nice to hear in any slot.

A great cover...

Lost Boys -- Echo/B-men cover the Doors.

Apparently at least a one song time delay for those of us listening to the stream. Kind of fun to get the preview of the next song by just reading the latest post. :-)
-
despite the lack of bustouts, this was relatively pleasant for '87.

NTM. A little light as covers go, but Echo (?) does have a distinctive voice.

3/01/16 - Tuesday! It's 1987
1. David Bowie - Never Let Me Down
(Movie: Wings of Desire)
2. U2 - In God's Country
3. The Stranglers - Always The Sun
4. Fleetwood Mac - Big Love
5. Jody Watley - Looking For A New Love
(Movie: Fatal Attraction)
6. Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
(News: President Reagan denies trading arms for hostages; Just Say No campaign)
7. Faith No More - We Care A Lot
(News: polling indicates Americans became more sympathetic to Oliver North after his Congressional testimony regarding the Iran-Contra affair)
8. Los Lobos - Come On, Let's Go
9. Peter Wolf - Come As You Are
(Movie: The Lost Boys)
10.Echo & the Bunnymen - People Are Strange
No. 10 appears to be a bust-out. (I do not consider its one appearance as a Bonus Track to be
strictly part of a 10@10 show.)

wow, that is truly one of those "I coulda SWORN..." tracks, given AL's love of Echo & Co. (Dave never played them ever). kudos, then.
