Will Ginger go for a McCartney trifecta?
Nice start with "Ain't No Sunshine", however.
-
BOS Archie & Maude
Well it was inevitable: Lee Michaels, "Doyaknowwhutamean?".
-
BOS2: Stones, "Moonlight Mile". With a head full of snow...
-
Ginger steals from Bob: Carole feels the earth move twice in one day.
BTW we also heard "Rock'n'Roll Stew" in KBCO part 1.
-
another Ginger/Bob confluence: the Mighty Zep, "R'n'R'.
-
OMG! John, "Oh Yoko" -- I don't think we've ever heard this in any '71 set from any time zone. 'bout time! BOS3, and maybe best of all 3 '71 sets, just for novelty alone.
-
In Mshray's stead I must point out a great segue:
The drugstore scene from Summer of '42 into Oh Yoko:
"In the middle of the night I call your name...."
Sometimes I think Ginger's segues rival Dave's for pithy subtext.

thanks, I was trying to identify that clip -- I almost called a Last Picture Show trifecta, since Bob played a LPS clip earlier.

Another glorious obscurity from Ginger: JJ Cale, "Magnolia".
And amazingly, the first Who song in 3 '71 sets: "Goin' Mobile".

No worries--the LPS clip from yesterday totally stumped me--I think I've managed to not see that movie in my 46+ years of existence. Must add it to the list.
We're really getting spoiled in the last day or so--no fewer than three visits to 1971, a 1964 (!) set, and what Dave this morning termed "an (almost) all-request Soul Patrol"--which means he's dropped a fave or two of his own in there too. Fair enough.
I'm kind of anxious to see if any of Mike's or my requests get played. Hope at least one of the 7 tunes we shouted out for gets in.

and we wrap up -- so tastefully -- with "Mercy Mercy Me". And with more Soul to come. Agreed, urth: we is spoiled.

Dammit! The squirrels that do the commercials on the stream stepped on Ginger's revelation of where she's going on Monday.
Damn rodents anyway!
