Moody Blues into ZZ Top's ode to, uhh, the money shot.

Sounds like 1981 to me.

Hoping we hear some El Rayo X, preferably something besides Mercury Blues.

"whatever 'in love' means..."

it means giving your princess a Pearl Necklace, obviously.

I'll never forget the Tom Shane commercial where he tells the guy "give her a pearl necklace", apparently quite oblivious to the double meaning.

VHM to a Cars song we rarely hear.

Dishonorable mention to the umpteenth unspooling of "Tide is High".

Sorry I'm late. And for one of the better 80s years, too. Damn.

HM to a not-overplayed Cars tune.

I missed "Pearl Necklace"? Damn! When ZZTop played Bush's first inauguration I laughed when I thought they might play that song for Laura Bush....

Sorry, I just read your post...

Ah, here's today's editorial content--the ruling on teaching evolution in the schools. Take that, Kansas!

I haven't gotten tired of "The Tide Is High" yet; HM from me.

Nice job to Dave on trotting out the Fundies attacking evolution.  Same as it ever was.  But I'd rather hear Terri Gibbs or Sylvia than the Police today -- countrypolitan still on the brain.

BOS for Invisible Sun. That is a cool tune, I'd have to say.  Very high obscurity level today for the Cars song and Prince's Dirty Mind.

He shoulda followed that with Anne Murray's "Blessed are the Believers"

I don't suppose there's a snowball's chance of hearing Gary US Bonds' "This Little Girl"? or maybe Adam and the Ants "Antmusic"?

I'd love to hear either one, but no, not likely.

Got busy & wasn't paying enough attention.  But BOS #3 to Donnie Iris.

"Invisible Sun" & "Spanish Dancer" got the first two.

From Loverboy to Donnie Iris.  I'm officially bored.

Speaking of, are we getting a shamelessly self-promotional "Live From the Archives" set tomorrow or Friday to celebrate the new release?

it's been a while since I heard this.  It's somewhere on a cassette.  Guess I'll have to find an MP3 someday.
