Blues Traveller into Blur.  Are we going alphabetically through the B-L's?

There's no other way...

James Taylor made an album in 1991?  Did anyone notice at the time?

I have this song from his 2-disc Greatest Hits Live ('93), and "Copperline" is about my favorite song on it.

Aaack.  Another useless remake of an iconic song, The Candyskins.  Was this an example of a cheap way to get this song onto a soundtrack?

Guilty Displeasure: Candy Skins' cover of "For What it's Worth". I wish someone'd dig out Cher's 1969 version.

I think disliking that gives you nothing to feel guilty about.  We should take pride in disliking such dreck.

"I'm gonna put your fat feet on the ground" -- weren't they "flat" in the original?  Ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman ...

I'd rather bump with a fat woman than with a flat one.  The bigger the cushion...

I've never heard this "Highway 5" song before, has anyone?  Lead singer sounds like he's trying to channel Roland Gift.

New to me too. He sounds more Southern-fried than Brit to me.

"the HIV virus that I have... attained"

Magic's poor choice of words still grates on my ears after all these years.

BOS Joni, tho' I probably never heard this on the radio in '91 either.

Uh-oh, it's "Shiny Happy People."  If people held up cards with their WOS picks like this were a Match Game category, we'd have a rare bout with unanimity.

Shiny happy ugly ol' Michael Stipe.  REM was inevitable I guess... I smell Teen Spirit just around the corner.

Third cover of the set.  Shouldn't there be a closely enforced restriction?

Yikes, our 3rd cover of the set -- no idea who this is, doing "Tired of Being Alone".

When covering songs with extensive ad-libbing, don't repeat the ad-libs word for word, aight buddy?  Hmph.  WOS from me.

Still strikes me as being every bit as unnecessary as the other 2 cover we've heard.

Ha!  Actually, it's in a three-way tie now.

At least Massive Attack have come to save the day.  BOS to "Safe From Harm."

No real argument.  I just like being able to say, "Dude! It's the Subdudes!"

You know, these are the moments that make me want to move forward with my TV show idea: It'd be kind of like Pop-Up Video, only that there would be 4-6 participants with distinct icons and personalities making comments instead of just one anonymous narrator.  In other words, it'd be a perfect merger between this board and PUV.  I'd cast myself as one of the characters and use my Bobby Womack icon.

I think the Subdudes are to Boulder as the Cryan' Shames are to Chicago. Sort of--I know at least some of them live (or lived) there in the 90s.
