Did not see that coming. The promo said "the year of YouTube and Brokeback Mountain. I wish AL knew how to quit the '00s.

Billboard's Top 20 of 2015:
1 Mariah Carey We Belong Together
2 Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl
3 Mario Let Me Love You
4 Kelly Clarkson Since U Been Gone
5 Ciara feat. Missy Elliott 1, 2 Step
6 Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx Gold Digger
7 Green Day Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
8 50 Cent feat. Olivia Candy Shop
9 Pussycat Dolls feat. Busta Rhymes Don't Cha
10 Kelly Clarkson Behind These Hazel Eyes
11 50 Cent Disco Inferno
12 Lifehouse You And Me
13 Black Eyed Peas Don't Phunk With My Heart
14 Missy Elliott feat. Ciara and Fat Man Scoop Lose Control
15 Mariah Carey Shake It Off
16 Killers Mr. Brightside
17 50 Cent Just A Lil Bit
18 Rihanna Pon de Replay
19 Game feat. 50 Cent How We Do
20 Weezer Beverly Hills
I'm gonna predict we hear the Gwen Stefani (as our token "HAAAAY!" track -- if not this, then Black-eyed Peas "My Humps"), the Green Day (if not "Boulevard..." then possibly "Holiday") and the Weezer (which has been in frequent KFOG rotay lately) and also, further down the list John Mayer "Daughters".
also possible: White Stripes "My Doorbell" or Kanye's "Golddigger",
-
I'll suggest that there is no chance we'll hear "My Humps" or "Gold Digger". Green Day, Lifehouse, the Killers and Weezer are the most likely on this list. If Stefani gets played, I'd guess it'd be "Cool".
"Daughters" had more or less run its course by the end of 2004, no?
I'm racking my brain to come up with AAA-specific 2005 tracks.
I'll bet a nickel we'll hear the Foos' "Best Of You".
Other possibilities: Beck's "E-Pro" or "Girl", Gorillaz' "Feel Good Inc.", Franz Ferdinand's "Do You Want To", Rob Thomas' "Lonely No More", Coldplay's "Speed Of Sound", James Blunt's "You're Beautiful".
-
Well, here's Green Day's "Boulevard..." at 9:52 so presumably AL won't play it.
-
"Heckuva job, Brownie" --> Killers "Mr Brightside". BFMcG's prediction comes true.
-
More Katrina coverage --> Allen Toussaint "Yes We Can Can" -- sterling segue; uber-BOS1
-
Daily Show on Bush/Katrina --> Beck "Black Tambourine". VHM
-
"Heckuva job, Brownie" --> Killers "Mr Brightside". BFMcG's prediction comes true.
This was about as good of a TOTHK as U2 “Vertigo” was in 04.
-
and another prediction lands: White Stripes "My Doorbell". VHM too

I’m going through my 2005 Top 100 (which was around the time my personal charts were very AAA-heavy) to find some song that may show up (although some of these were released in ’04):
Joseph Arthur - Even Tho
Snow Patrol - Chocolate
Duran Duran - What Happens Tomorrow
Jem - 24
New Order - Krafty
John Hiatt - Master of Disaster
Bruce Hornsby - Circus on the Moon/Gonna Be Some Changes Made
Mark Knopfler - Boom, Like That
Ryan Adams & the Cardinals - Let It Ride
Sarah McLesbian - World on Fire
Ozomatli - Love and Hope
Depeche Mode - Precious
Jack Johnson - Good People
Shivaree - I Close My Eyes
Bowling for Soup - 1985
Sting - Stolen Car
Death Cab for Cutie - Soul Meets Body
Blue Merle - Burning in the Sun
-
Brokeback Mountain --> "I Will Not Be Broken", Bonnie Raitt. VHM -- I don't recall this getting a lot of KFOG airplay.

-
"Ah wish ah knew how to quit you!" --> Coldplay, "Fix You"
-
more Brokeback --> Genius "Back into You"
Never heard of this group or this song. A little odd, but not sure I'll remember it.
-
MMJ, "Wordless Chorus".

MMJ, "Wordless Chorus".
Really like this song. Never heard it before... wasn't listening too closely to current songs in 2005.
-
the birth of Facebook --> Spoon "Turn My Camera On"

I really don't like it. I can't abide his wailing. He should use his words instead.

THE Facebook.
I didn't know Spoon had been around that long. They're a pretty cool band.
-
Daily Show on climate change --> "Wake Up", Arcade Fire.
Overall, not quite the slam-dunk that our first 2004 set was, but not bad.
But please: spare us 2006 for a while, huh?
-
This Arcade Fire showed up in the 2000-2009 Decade set. Also, it was on the Alternative chart in 2009.

Don't like Arcade Fire's whiny vocals.

Heh, guess you don't like whiny vocals much.
I didn't even notice the singing, just liked the overall sound.
-

They get a lot of airplay on RadioParadise, and actually I like most of their songs.

Yeah, how 'bout that? I've never heard of them, but seems like a group we could be in ;)
-
6. Genius - I'm Getting Back Into Getting Back Into You
so Google was right after all. So why did she say it was the Silver Jews, (or Silver Juice)?

OK, I'm getting people on FB saying it's Silver Jews. Are you making these lists yourself or getting them from KFOG? Because today's isn't on the KFOG site yet.

A month ago I had an epiphany... I realized I was spending as much or even more time waiting for,
and then correcting all the format problems, capitalization and punctuation errors, spelling inconsistancies, etc.
of the KFOG lists, than if I simply took notes and did it myself. So yes, all the lists I've been posting are entirely
my creation, and all errors are mine. I usually use my own knowledge, and search my files to verify titles and
spelling. (The bust-out list naturally falls out as a result of this process.) I use the posts here (if they're not too
elliptical) and Google to help me for songs I don't otherwise recognize, and finally the back-sell if I must, but for
unfamiliar works sometimes it can be difficult to tell what is the group's name and what is a parenthetical comment
from Annalisa. In this case, as I know fuck-all about music from 2005 and there isn't a single previous 2005 set,
I relied on your comment and when I googled the title I saw "Genius" in the results, so I thought that was indeed
the group's name. I see now that "genius" referred to the web site, and I can't even find any musical group with
that name. Furthermore, the Silver Jews' 2005 release of Tanglewood Numbers contains the track in question,
so that's probably correct.
