Not an auspicious beginning -- it's one of Dave's most reliable '68 Katrinas. Nowhere to go but up!

sure it's a Sally, but it's also a quote worthy of Quayle, or W himself:

"Gentlemen, get this right once and for all: a policeman isn't there to create disorder, he's there to preserve disorder."

"If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost the American people".

So, who would Dubya have to lose to feel that shaken? O'Reilly? Hannity?
Lord,  that's a depressing line of thought...

Didn't we debate "Sky Pilot" recently?

I was thinking the exact same thing, only I don't even think he'd react that way if he lost his dad.  Which by some repports he already has.

The Tet Offensive by the way, was a military disaster for the VC & NVA, but a political triumph nonetheless, and that proved ultimately more important.  It was also a massive failure of military intelligence before, during & after for the US & ARVN. (in fact maybe the most important accomplishment of Tet was that the US high command lost all faith in the ARVN).
