Title: 4 Nov 2015: it's... our first 2004 visit
Post by: RGMike on November 04, 2015, 07:53:19 AM
'80s, presumably.

ETA: and late -- another regular KFOG song begins at 10:01.  Alanis is giving head over her feet. And yet it's "not lip service". Hrm.

Hmm, has it started? Two songs after 10:00 already.

Bono counts even worse than King Arthur.

A reasonable TOTHK, I spose.

BOS1 Franz Ferdinand, "Take Me Out" even tho' it's been in KFOG rotay for ages.  But I suspect it will become a 2004 Katrina in short order.

True enough. I remember being very impressed with Franz Ferdinand's sound when they came out. Guess they didn't have much depth to keep it going.

This MM song is already common in KFOG, but hearing it now makes me realize what a Sledgehammer it was.

BOS for Rilo Kiley. Not sure I've heard this one before, though I guess it's not especially memorable.

A very listenable set IMO. Although half the tracks are still in KFOG (And Live 105) rotation, but at least they were interesting ones (Franz Ferdinand, Killers, Mouse Green Day, Shins.) The U2 was as good as any for an opener, and at least the Keane song wasn’t Somewhere Only We Know. Then it was nice to hear the couple of AAA-oddities that hit the lower part of the chart (Rilo Kiley, Mocean Worker, Loretta Lynn/Jack White.)

Agreed. The *next* 2004 set will be interesting, this was really like KFOG's greatest 2004 hits.   The Shins tune has appeared in several "... Goes to the Movies" sets.  I don't even *have* a 2004 request wish-list.

Wonder if we'll get '80s and '60s the next 2 days to make it a 5-decade week. More likely early '80s followed by late '90s.
