Title: 18 September 2015: it's an "encore" from... 1981
Post by: urth on September 17, 2015, 06:19:43 PM
So as we look toward Friday, this week we've been to 2003, 1994, 1983, and 1998. One would hope that would all but assure a set from the 70s (or earlier, but that might be asking a lot) tomorrow.

But I'm not that confident. I could just as easily see us going to a late 80s year.
Really hope I am wrong in that.

I suspect you're correct about late '80s... I'll be shocked if you're not.

OK so I was wrong about getting a late-80s year, but still, having 1981 be as far back as we go in a week's worth of sets is pretty sad. The new reality.

So this set is from June 2012, right in the middle of AL 2.0 aka The DC era, aka The Dark Times. But in retrospect it's not sounding so bad.

yeah, it's not bad at all, cliche "Start" notwithstanding.

OTOH... last week's '81 set also featured Rush's "Limelight"

The fact that this is the album version bumps this up to BOS in my book.

BOS for Invisible Sun. Sounding good today. Goes well with Black Hole Sun, which I heard yesterday.

I'm kind of enjoying Big Data -- Dangerous, the first song out of the backsell. I usually switch off as quickly as possible, but it's more intriguing than most.
