No thread as of 10:30pm. Could it be an Outside Lands-related set? Or could it be a "classic", if AL is attending said Festival?
ETA: In any case, I might be able to listen (driving), but I won't be able to post (because I'm driving). Take notes if you can!
-
Or maybe both: a pre-compiled Outside Lands set?

Or maybe neither. Turns out we get a completely AL-created 1981 set.
TOTHK: Stones, Hang Fire. One of my faves from Tattoo You.

BOS for Kinks being paranoid all day AND all of the night.
-
Ronco smokeless ashtray ad > Kinks - Destroyer.
Love the Kinks, not missing this song so much however. Always did get a smile from the way they recycled the "All Day and All of the Night" riff however.
-
Big LN for Billy Idol dancing with himself. Keep it to yourself, Bill.

3.
Billy Idol Generation X - Dancing With Myself
Or is this Generation X?
ETA: Backsell reveals that it was in fact Gen X.
-
BOS for Squeeze. (Pretty sure it was Billy Idol for the previous song.)
-
4. Squeeze - Is That Love?
Not so many clips today, or maybe it just seems that way after the Jon Stewart-a-thon yesterday.
-
5. Human League - Love Action (I Believe in Love)
Yes, likely a rarity, but not one I can get excited about.
Hoping it's not the only one.

This Happy Birthday song sure sounds rare to me. NTM, and unidentifiable.
Sounds like Siousie Sioux as a tween.
-
"Mommy Dearest" clip (No wire hangars...ever!!!) > 6. Altered Images - Happy Birthday
A little better.

Likewise, but probably as much because it's of that time. But def a rarity, if not a first-timer.

Interestingly relevant info from Wikipedia about Altered Images:
With additional guitarist Jim McKinven, they recorded their debut album, Happy Birthday (1981), largely produced by Steve Severin of Siouxsie and the Banshees. The band also worked briefly with producer Martin Rushent (who had garnered tremendous success producing The Human League that year), who notably produced the title track, which became the band's third single and their biggest hit.
Clare Grogan, their lead singer, was 19 at the time this was made.

7. Depeche Mode - I Just Can't Get Enough
Big ol' dose of synth-pop in today's set.
-
8. Joan Jett - I Just Wanna Touch
9. Duran Duran - Girls on Film
Had a phone call right as the JJ song was starting, so there could have been another one between these too, but I don't think I was on that long.

I don't think you missed anything.
This Cure song isn't bad for whiny white boys.
ETA: "Primary", it would appear.
Good call on the Generation X ID.

10. The Cure - Primary
Pretty synth-heavy set. I can just hear the screams from certain GS denizens now.

some of the GSes (me, included) wanted one more RAWK nugget to appear (Rush, Triumph, BOC were all namechecked) but this set was pretty great for being so laden with FF's. Synthpop is right up my alley. The Cure song put it over the top for me and was my BOS. I would've jettisoned The Kinks song for something Rush, but then again, I often lean that way. :) \m/

Caught 1-8 and missed the last two (consistent with my listening all of this week).

Today's setlist isn't up yet, but the intern has posted the rest of this week's setlists, finally.
I noticed KFOG's using rdio instead of Mixcloud (or SoundCloud) now...
