Request thread is up early.
-
Oy: instant LN/WOS: "Hell in a Bucket".
-
JIm Bakker --> "Dear God". Mild chuckle for a segue we've surely heard multiple times.
Mondegreen of the Day: "... still believe in that Chunky Soup"
-
More Falwell/Bakker --> "Heaven is a Place on Earth". Heh. VHM for a relative rarity. (heard twice previously; once from Renee)
-
U2 trips on an LN.
-
Brooooooooce, "Brilliant Disguise". Something deeper from this LP woulda been an easy BOS.
-
Princess Bride --> Swingout Sister, "Breakout", which is not a bustout. But a delightful BOS-worthy rarity.

heh, so far my BOS
-
got a chuckle when I heard Bruce sing "But come the wee wee hours..."
For me, that's around 4 AM every night or so.
-
Seems as if the BOS candidates have been more scarce this week, only one or two (at most) per set. The '82 set from Monday is looking like the strongest of the bunch. Neither have they been terrible, mind you, but just not a lot to rave over.
-
Lost Boys --> Echo/B'men "People are Strange", which some geezer on the Fogheads for the Old Format page was complaining about recently. BOS2.

saw palmetto'll fix that right up, buddy.

Oddly, this is showing up with song ID on the web player, so it must be in their system/database. Weird, since I don't recall having heard it on KFOG before.
-
DM "StrangeLove" is pretty LN at this point.

There was a time when it was in rotay but not lately (I'd certainly prefer hearing it regularly over "Tainted Love" or "Shout")
-
uber-LN3 or 4: "Girlfriend in a Coma" (I requested "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard...", which woulda been a bustout)

Agreed, and it's looking like this is the bustout of the day. It turns up as a bonus track from the Morey era, but not otherwise.
Girlfriend in a Coma however, is rapidly nearing FF status.
-
Claus von Bulow divorces Sunny --> "We Care a Lot". BOS3 Faith no More feat Roddy Bottum.
-
uber-LN3 or 4: "Girlfriend in a Coma" (I requested "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard...", which woulda been a bustout)
"I crashed down on the crossbar.."

This is why it's good to wear a cup.

"Strangeways Here We Come" > This album was my real immersion introduction to The Smiths. Before then I really hadn't paid much attn to them, but I met some groovy cool folks around this time and they turned me on to them via this record.

AL's on vacay next week, so it'll be '80s and '90s encores no doubt.
